SKY.

I've always said how gorgeous the sky is in Leeds and often stop myself from taking yet another photo of it so instead I've embraced it! I decided to take a photo every day this past week to document the beautiful sky from my bedroom window.

LOVING THIS...

A new week where Autumn has properly made it's appearance. The weather has been weird recently - warm but wet and then so windy today! All the leaves are changing and last night we watched "You've Got Mail", one of my favourite Autumn films. I am very excited about this season.

I managed to miss thankful thursday last month and the month before was late so I've decided to put those posts on pause for a little while and start a fresh series of things I am loving right now, similar this post from last year.

MY LEEDS/ THE TETLEY.

Today I'm sharing another spot in Leeds.

This quick visit last week was actually my first time to The Tetley and we stopped in for coffee with a token look around the galleries on the first floor. The building itself is very impressive (I'm a sucker for a pretty building) and inside was great with the cosy kitchen-bar. This city is great at utilising and reinventing existing spaces, I just love taking time to check them out!

OUTSIDE AND IN.
THE BUILDING USED TO BE HOME TO THE BREWING FACTORY (NOT SURE THAT FACTORY IS THE RIGHT WORD!) AND THIS AMAZING GOLD SIGN IS THE FIRST THING YOU SEE WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE DOORS.
WE SHARED SOME AFTERNOON TEA, WHICH TASTED AS PRETTY AS IT LOOKED.
HOW COOL IS THIS LIFT SIGN?! IT REMINDED ME OF 'THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL'
GETTING INTERACTIVE WITH THE ART WORK.
LOVED THE ARCHITECTURE IN THIS PLACE, THE UPPER FLOORS ARE FILLED WITH GALLERIES AND EXHIBITION SPACES THAT I WANT TO EXPLORE SOME MORE.
FLAGS IN THE SUNSHINE.

Check out what is on at The Tetley here.

CARROT AND DATE BREAKFAST MUFFINS.

I've had a (slight) make-over of 'today' (basically just a shuffle around and font colour change) and it feels good to refresh. I get a bit restless and like to mix things up a little every now and then so I hope you like it.
Anyway...

I've been baking again! I had a flick through my trusty cook books and found this recipe from 'the sprouted kitchen' which was perfect as I had a lot of carrots and dates that needed using up. I didn't quite have all the ingredients so improvised a bit.... They still turned out pretty great but with the right kinds of flour and more of a rise, I'm sure they would be even better next time.
This post feels very old-school as some of my first posts were back when I was baking a pie-a-month.

AMSTERDAM/ PART THREE.

The last post to round up the week. On our final day we had quite a lot of time to kill as our flight was late on. We explored the Jordaan area, wandering up and down the canals and quiet streets, had plenty of coffee breaks and rode the free ferry as far as we could.
Very grateful for quality friendship time, adventure in a new place and beautiful weather.

Now that I'm back in Leeds and life is (slightly) more chilled I'm hoping to keep the posts coming and maybe have a little revamp. Watch this space.

THE STUNNING CENTRAL STATION.
THE JORDANN IS PRETTY GORGEOUS, I LOVED GETTING LOST AROUND HERE.
MY NEW HOUSE? YES PLEASE.
SO. MANY. BICYCLES.
THE IVY.
THE PERFECT APPLE PIE AND TILES AT THE ENTRY TO OUR APARTMENT.
THE INDUSTRIAL SHIP YARD AT THE END OF OUR LITTLE FERRY JOURNEY. THAT BOAT WAS BASICALLY A PIRATE SHIP.

Until next time Europe! Technically I live in Europe but you know what I mean.

AMSTERDAM/ PART TWO.

Day two in sunny Amsterdam! We explored a few markets, ventured to the lovely Vondlepark and cycled around (on the condition that we didn't leave the park... I was not keen on braving the traffic) and paid a quick visit to the Van Gogh Museum. We rounded up the night with delicious burgers from 'Geflipt' on the balcony. So. Good.
I'll share the final photos on Friday!

LESS THAN A MINUTE FROM OUR LITTLE APARTMENT WAS THE ALBERT CUYPMARKT, A STREET FILLED WITH EVERY KIND OF MARKET STALL. BEHIND THE STALLS WERE A COUPLE OF SHOPS INCLUDING THIS BEAUTIFUL FURNITURE ONE...
...I HAPPILY COULD HAVE BOUGHT MOST OF THE SHOP BUT MY CABIN BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE AND THE SHIPPING FEES STOPPED ME.
VINTAGE CLOTHES.
A FLOWER STAND FULL OF SUNFLOWERS.
I AMSTERDAM.
VONDELPARK WAS SURROUNDED BY THE PRETTIEST TOWN HOUSES.
AUTUMN ARRIVED.
CYCLING! (THANKS MACBIKE) IT TOOK WAY TOO MANY ATTEMPTS TO GET A DECENT SHOT WHILE MOVING: MY ONE-HANDED STEERING AND BALANCE WERE NOT UP TO SCRATCH.
UNLIKE JENI'S, WHAT A PRO!
THE ROSE GARDENS WERE JUST ABOUT HOLDING ON.
RAINBOW STREET.
THE RIJKSMUSEUM.
 BEAUTIFUL ARCHWAYS.
