PATCHWORK QUILT.

As part of my "twenty-five before twenty-five" list I have actually made a quilt! I've been a bit stop and start with this little project but I got there in the end.

If you look too closely the stitches are visible, the squares are a bit wonky and it is far from perfect but hey, it's actually a real quilt. Pretty proud of myself for making something useful that I'll keep for a long time. Also certain squares are from fabric given to be by family and friends like an old dress of my Granny's, which makes it extra special.

MY LEEDS/ KENDELL'S BISTRO.

Kendell's is a little French Bistro in the middle of Leeds. I first heard about it at the Leeds Food and Drink Festival back again in a couple of months! and have been wanting to try it ever since.

From the outside, it seems tiny and you would hardly know it was there but it's well worth seeking out. Inside Kendell's is packed with lights, candles, posters, huge chalk boards and wooden furniture. There is such an authentic feel and the food is absolutely delicious. We decided to go for the set menu and I was not disappointed with french onion soup, duck and profiteroles. It was so fun to spend the evening together for no reason but to eat tasty food and try a new place. I'm looking forward to heading back soon and trying everything else on the menu.

FEBRUARY'S FLOWERS.

Hello!

It's February already and I feel as if I've been neglectful with pretty irregular posts. My life has consisted of a lot of organising and getting stuff done recently which I actually kind of love. Getting jobs crossed off my to do list has felt great. This month is shaping up to be a good one so I'm planning to take my camera along with me so keep checking back for more posts (hopefully).

These beautiful tulips I found in my local market for next to nothing. It is definitely my favourite place to buy flowers as there is always a lot of choice and it never costs a lot. I always tend to split flowers between my bedroom and living room to make the most of seeing them.

Hope you're having a lovely week so far

HOMEMADE APPLE PIE.

I thought I'd revisit one of the first posts I ever did on the blog with this recipe.

This is pretty easy with no blind baking involved so the only waiting around is for the pastry to chill. I didn't manage to get a photo of the finished result as it disappear super quickly but it was very tasty, I can assure you! I love how the apple is still in slices when it's baked rather than just a mush and it holds it's shape so well. I'm looking forward to eating the mini pies I made with the leftovers for breakfast (apple pie seems an acceptable breakfast food for sure).

TOOK THIS OPPORTUNITY TO USE MY BEAUTIFUL NEW MIXING BOWL.
DOING THE CRIMPING AROUND THE EDGE ALWAYS REMINDS ME OF SNOW WHITE, I USED TO MAKE PRETEND PIES THIS WAY WHEN I WAS YOUNGER TOO!

Hope you're having a wonderful week

JANUARY'S FLOWERS.

Here we go, getting back in to proper blog posts, trying out some new features.
These beauties have been on my desk this past week to brighten it up and keeping my hope for the spring alive. I decided it wasn't that cold and turned my heating off. Then it snowed.

2014.

Happy New Year!
I was going to say it's felt like a slow start to the year but in reality I think it's snuck up on me and I'm over a week late but I hope the start to this new year has been wonderful. Before getting started with 2015 I wanted to take a minute to look back on this last year. I am so thankful that I started this blog as it means I've documented a lot and can look back and see what an excellent year it's been.

A little summary of what my year has been filled with according to my little blog...
