FLOWERS.

Last year I had a monthly post featuring flowers. I still love flowers but in the spirit of no pressure to blog or to put expectations on myself, here are some tulips for your weekend, irrespective of the month. These beauties were in the market bargain bucket for only £1!! I think they might be the prettiest tulips I have ever seen, I mean look at those petals.

SIGNS OF SPRING.

Earlier this week we went for a very short walk armed with mittens and my camera. I feel like I'm slowly getting back into using it and the few flowers fighting the cold wind were the perfect thing to capture. I'm grateful for the reminder that the sun is still there and we'll hopefully be seeing a little bit more of it soon!

OCTOBER'S FLOWERS.

Playing a little bit of catch up right now, here are last month's flowers which were these cute little asters, reminding me a little of daisies and "You've Got Mail".

NEW COVENT GARDEN MARKET.

While in London visiting Jeni, we took an early morning trip to do some flower research for the wedding which is less than two weeks away now(!). Armed with coffee, scarfs and a notebook we made our way round asking questions and placing orders to pick up the day before the big day. By the time we arrived over half of the stock was gone but there was still plenty to choose from thankfully and I was in my element. I love flowers if you haven't already figured that one out and it's probably a good thing we were 200miles from my house or a lot of these would have come home with me. Can't wait to get my hands on these and start making button holes and bouquets as part of my bridesmaid duties!

AUGUST'S FLOWERS.

This month I picked up some Lisianthus. I love how tall and elegant these stems are and how cool the twisted petals are before they open! It still brightens up my week every month when I buy a new bunch for fresh flowers.

JULY'S FLOWERS.

Yellow sunflowers bringing summer inside this month. These guys always remind me of childhood, holidays and my Mum.
Have a lovely weekend!

JUNE'S FLOWERS.

Yay for peonies! Jumping on the band wagon because they are so big and pretty and not in season forever. These photos were taken over a couple of days and in various places to maximise on light and encourage them to open up.

I actually wrote this post a week ago and never got round to posting it! Arriving back from holiday yesterday I found these enormous things... They are on their last legs but beautiful all the same.
Have a wonderful weekend, I'll be spending mine working through a pile of washing, food shopping, catching up with some familiar faces and enjoying any sun that makes an appearance. Have a good one!

MAY'S FLOWERS.

I bought this pretty bunch for my sister this month to bring us a bit of sunshine and have been thoroughly enjoying looking at these each day.  I looked everywhere for ranunculus but wasn't having much luck until I found these yellow ones hiding behind a lot of tulips, carnations and some stocks that I was very tempted by. I wasn't immediately convinced but so glad I went for them because they are beautiful.

MARCH'S FLOWERS.

Here we are with this month's offering.
I managed to spot these beauties yesterday amongst the many daffodils in the supermarket so quickly grabbed the last bunch! I had actually been eyeing up hyacinths and anemones in the market while picking up some flowers for my Mum so I was especially happy to find these.

FEBRUARY'S FLOWERS.

Hello!

It's February already and I feel as if I've been neglectful with pretty irregular posts. My life has consisted of a lot of organising and getting stuff done recently which I actually kind of love. Getting jobs crossed off my to do list has felt great. This month is shaping up to be a good one so I'm planning to take my camera along with me so keep checking back for more posts (hopefully).

These beautiful tulips I found in my local market for next to nothing. It is definitely my favourite place to buy flowers as there is always a lot of choice and it never costs a lot. I always tend to split flowers between my bedroom and living room to make the most of seeing them.

Hope you're having a lovely week so far

JANUARY'S FLOWERS.

Here we go, getting back in to proper blog posts, trying out some new features.
These beauties have been on my desk this past week to brighten it up and keeping my hope for the spring alive. I decided it wasn't that cold and turned my heating off. Then it snowed.
